Common questions

What has the average Agile price been?

The tables on this page give the average Agile unit price for every month since Agile launched in February 2018, for each region, including VAT. Pick your region to see its own figures.

Why did Agile prices jump in 2022?

Wholesale gas and electricity prices soared in 2022, and Agile follows the wholesale market. Octopus also changed Agile's formula and raised its price cap several times that year, from 35p to 55p, 78p and then 100p per kWh.

Which Agile version do these prices use?

They show what a new customer signing up at the time would have paid: each month uses the Agile version on sale then. Between 6 October and 25 November 2022 Agile was closed to new customers, so those weeks use the version existing customers were on.

Why is there a step in October 2026?

VAT on household electricity was cut from 5% to 0% from 1 October 2026 to 31 March 2027, so prices including VAT dropped by about 4.8% overnight for reasons unrelated to the market. The "before VAT" column compares like with like.
